How to add a new method to your IC-VIS™.

If a method isn't in the Method Library yet, or you'd rather calibrate it yourself, you can add it directly. Build your own calibration curve, enter it above, generate the QR code, and scan it with your IC-VIS™.

  1. Prepare: make a calibration curve, then extract its function (e.g. y = 17.834x − 0.0955).
  2. Name it: give the method a name and a method reference.
  3. Coefficients: enter the function's coefficients A–E — any can be left blank.
  4. Range: set the method's min/max range per its specification.
  5. Wavelength: choose 420, 520, 560 or 610 nm.
  6. Unit & decimals: set the display unit (mg/L, ppm, abs, …) and decimal places.
  7. Generate & scan: press "Generate QR code" and scan it with your IC-VIS™ — the new method is added.
The Method Library is still growing.

We're actively revising and expanding the calibrated methods available in the Method Library. In the meantime, we recommend building your own calibration curve and importing it here. If you do use a listed method, double-check its reagents and cuvette dimensions match your setup.

How to redo a turbidity (FTU) calibration.

Every IC-VIS™ is turbidity-calibrated at production using Formazine samples of known turbidity — reported in FTU (Formazine Turbidity Unit). Recalibrate if you're switching to a different cuvette size, or simply want to re-check the calibration.

  1. Prepare samples: a set of turbid samples with known turbidity values.
  2. Enter values: add each known turbidity value above — press "+ Add point" for more.
  3. Generate & scan: press "Generate QR code for turbidity calibration" and scan it with your IC-VIS™. Calibration starts on-device, with further steps shown on its screen.
